First flat, lucky I was in town and found a bike shop, Guy had
2 tubes my size and bought them both.
Temp 31, impossible to ride much after 1pm due to the heat. Thank God I bought sunscreen……
Road (Route 4 South) shoulder is very good and clean. Right after booking a hotel on the beach with Agoda, I notice the flat. 2 hours to fix as I couldn’t get the Panaracer tires back on the rim myself. The tire shop showed me the trick. Too late to go any further (Agoda Hotel 40 km down the road)so I’ll eat at the hotel on the beach and stay in town (Prachuap) in a 400 Bhat room. It’s fine. The deeper you get into Thailand, the friendlier the people are and the more you need sign language.
Up most of last night with cramps. Hydration is a constant battle. I counted 9 bottles of Gator-aid today just on the ride alone. 7/11 everywhere here.
I’m now guessing 5 more days to reach Phuket. Got sick and out of shape in Burma the last 3 weeks. Will get it back gradually on the road.
